Frequently Asked Questions

How long are your programs? Our programs last from 18 to 48 weeks, with new classes beginning frequently (every 4-6 weeks, depending on the program).

Is Central Coast College accredited? Yes. Central Coast College is nationally accredited through the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training and licensed through the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education.

Are there evening classes? Yes! Computer Specialist: Accounting, Medical Administrative Assistant, Pharmacy Technician and Medical Assisting are all offered in the evenings.

What days/hours do students attend school? Day students take classes Monday thru Friday and evening students take classes Monday thru Thursday. Classes for day students meet in blocks scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Evening classes start at 5:50 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. and usually end at 9:45 p.m.

Are there classes in the summer? Yes, our students go to school year-round with occasional days off for seasonal vacations, holidays, etc. Student holidays are consistent with public school holidays whenever possible, a factor those with school-age children appreciate.

What do students receive when they graduate? Our graduates receive diplomas at our semiannual graduation ceremonies and job search assistance.

Does Central Coast College help with job placement? Yes! Our Career Services Department works with all graduates to prepare them for the competitive workplace. Although placement is never guaranteed, three quarters of our graduates found training-related employment in 2006. All of our graduates receive placement assistance.

What programs do you offer? Central Coast College offers programs in Computer Specialist: Accounting, Computer Office Administration, Medical Biller and Coder, Medical Administrative Assistant, Medical Assisting, Pharmacy Technician and Hospitality and Tourism.

What if I only want to take one course? Custom or single-course training is arranged through our custom training coordinator on a space-available basis.

"On a daily basis there are classes that you attend, and the classes are small, which is great because the students do the one-on-one, which is very important. As you look at schools now-a-days they are over crowded and that is a downside. Communication with your teacher is really important here (at CCC)."
