CCC Career Development

Do you feel unprepared for the real world?

The staff of Central Coast College understands that the real world can be intimidating and scary. That’s why we designed our curriculum to address these issues. Instead of giving you training and sending you on your way, we provide you with courses to prepare for your future:

  • Career and Personal Development I: This class focuses on life skills to use in both the workforce and in your personal life. This course focuses on goal setting, time management, stress reduction and financial management.
  • Career and Personal Development II: This class is provided to every student in or near their last term. Taught by the Career Services Coordinator, students are assisted in their job search with cover letters, resume preparation and reference lists, networking and job search techniques, and interview preparation.
  • Introduction to Business: This class is provided to students in the Computer Office Administration classes to help them understand how businesses function and operate. Information on different types of businesses, wage and labor laws, marketing and sales, and customer service are included.

"I think it's a win-win. When I work with the interns at Central Coast College, it gives me the opportunity to have a six week on the job interview. It gives them the opportunity to see if my particular specialty interests them. And I think in the end we both win...either there's a job offer made or the employees take the experience and have something to put on their resume."
